Tyler Wiebe

I grew up in a small northern Ontario town called Blind River. The place I grew up was probably a significant factor in the fact that I developed a love for trees, lakes, and nature generally from a young age. This interest in nature also turned into an interest in science as I grew up (being raised by 2 science teachers may also have been a factor). I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph in 2008, and have been on a winding career path ever since, including working for the Ontario Ministry of environment, groundwater monitoring and remediation, trip leading at a wilderness camp, going to teacher’s college at Lakehead University (graduated 2011), teaching science at an international school in Venezuela for 2 years, teaching in Florida for a year, and back in northern Ontario over the last 5 years. I love seeing young people find what they’re passionate about, and develop the skills to bring that to bear in the real world; it’s my hope to simply be of help to my students in that process.
